Cannot change the setting for parent control in Win Vista Home Premium RRS feed

  •

I am using a notebook with preinstalled Window Vista Home Premium.

I used the Parent Control function and created a standard user and bult in some setting eg the time which can log in by the standard user.

After that, I want to change the setting for the existing user and set new settin g for a new standard user.

But even if I logged in as Administrator, the Window popped out a message that "Tthe setting cannot be changed and if these happened continuous, you should contact the Administrator"

I cannot get to the page for the setting.  It flashed and then popped out that message.

I tried log out and log in the computer but still cannot get to that setting pae.

I tried create new standard user, but the same ocurred and even new standard user can log in anytime (ie no restriction in the time frame I set before).

Please advise how to get to that page and so that I can change the setting.

    many thanks.

  • hm.....You said that you logged in as Administrator and create new user account, but still cannot config the Parent Control to the new User?

Is the user account you logged on, is a member of Administrators group? Could you double check on it?

  • I guess you need to change the setting by using save mode.

Try to open the computer in save mode, change every thing you need, then delete all the old profile. Reboot the computer and logon with one of the user credential, you should able to see the page again.
