  • You need to create one local user account and enter this user account username and password when the login dialog box comes up when you are trying to connect it from other computer. Every computer has its SAM to storing all this information.

  • Thanks for your advance.

But I remember that before I just do something and is work not necessary to create a local user account.

Because some problem I have to re-install my laptop, and after that is not work now.

And my case is without the login dialog box comes up and got error.

    Error message is below:

\\10.26.78.118 is not accessible. you might not have premission to use this network resource. contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission.

There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.

  • Hi Wing,

Have you try to turn off the firewall on the computer that you are trying to connect to?

  • If your getting a pop-up saying that you can't access the network share or whatever with no dialog box for username/pass usually you already have a network password stored for that computer.  I've had this situation come up and when I've gone into user accounts and then manage network passwords I find that somehow I have a password already stored for that computer.  Deleting the entry has worked for me so hopefully this will work for your problem as well.
