    I have a retail box set of Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition (Traditional Chinese).

     

    May I purchase a Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition (Traditional Chinese) UPGRADE EDITION to upgrade my current Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition to Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition? Or must I buy a new retail box set of Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition (Traditional Chinese) instead?

     

    How about if I purchase Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition (Traditional Chinese) to upgrade my current Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition to Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition? Is it possible?

     

    Is there any fundamental licence difference between Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition and Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition?

    Well, as I know, there is no such upgrade edition or upgrade price.

    So you could only buy VS2008 in normal price.

    There is only one type of fundamental license, it is MSDN license. If your working company has one, then you are able to install VS2008 from downloading the install files from MSDN Subscription site, or from the MSDN Disc. If your working company is not, then you may try to suggest your boss to buy.
