解答

  • From your log file:

08:49:44 SQL Server ProductType: Standard Edition [0x2]

You're installing SQL Server Standard Edition on Win2K3R2 x64.  Refer to SQL Server 2000 requirement here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/previousversions/system-requirements.mspx

"Note: If you are running a 64-bit version of a Microsoft Windows Server™ operating system, you need to use SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition (64-bit). Visit the SQL Server 2000 (64-bit) System Requirements page for additional information."

You should be using a x64 version of SQL Server Enterprise.  SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition only provide 32-bit support.

If you are looking for x64 SQL server in standard edition, I am recommending SQL Server 2005 x64 Standard Edition instead, if version compatability is not a concern.

    Cheers.

  • Check sql installation log file, it should have details. By the way, does the machine have 64-bit OS?

  • Hi,

In order for us to help, please specify your detail OS version (with SP level), and special applications (like antivirus or other application server services) running in the target SQL server box.

    Cheers.

Thanks for your reminder.  SQL Server 2000 do only have x86 and IA-64, even installing on x64 Win2K3, it is still necessary to use x86
