Exception Error c0000005 generated by INETINFO.EXE in Windows 2K Server SP4 RRS feed

    Hi all,

     

    Problem:

    I got the following error event from Windows 2000 Server SP4

    Severity:  Error
    Status:  New
    Source:  DrWatson
    Name:  The application, inetinfo, generated an application error
    Description:  The application, inetinfo.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 10/03/2008 @ 10:04:04.241 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 78010641 (strchr)

    I cannot find the answer from Internet.  Please help.  Thanks.

    Thanks for your useful info.  We are using Symantec AntiVirus version 10.1.0.  Moreover, please explain the impact of Symantec Antivirus software to IIS 5.0 on Windows 2000 Server SP4.  Thanks.

     

    On the other hand, we have found the following event log:

    Event Source: Service Control Manager
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 7031
    Date:  10/3/2008
    Time:  10:04:13 AM
    User:  N/A
    Description:
    The IIS Admin Service service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 1 milliseconds: Run the configured recovery program.

     

     


    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Service Control Manager
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 7031
    Date:  10/3/2008
    Time:  10:04:13 AM
    User:  N/A
    Description:
    The Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action.
