  • Did you create msdtc resource on the cluster yet?

"Unlike non-clustered installations of SQL Server 2000, the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) is required when clustering SQL Server 2000. Before SQL Server 2000 can be installed, the MSDTC (which is now a part of SQL Server 2000), must be configured for running in a cluster. Fortunately, this is a simple step."

You could see more story about MSDTC in

And full story on creating Server Cluster and SQL Cluster, you may read the following link,

Recently I found more and more reports on installing SQL server cluster on domain controllers.  No matter SQL server or Exchange server, installing cluster on domain controller is not recommended, and not supported by Microsoft.  It can be running, but you may still encounter unexpected behavior.

    SQL Server 2005

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/254321

"Additionally, we do not support installing SQL Server 2005 failover cluster instances in an environment in which any node is a domain controller."

    Exchange Server 5.5, 2000, 2003, 2007

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898634

"Active Directory domain controllers are not supported as Exchange Server cluster nodes"

This is a very important concept to remember for all Windows platform IT-Pro and developers.

    Cheers.
