  • Hi nmc123,

Did you try the following suggestion, if not, please try it and then create a new calendar, and check the effect.

    1)      Use an Outlook client or Outlook Web Access (OWA) to open the mailbox of the user identified by event 8230.

    2)      From the calendar, locate the calendar item and delete it.

    3)      Check the effect.

Also, which version(include SP information) is your Outlook?

Please run these commands according to the following steps:

    1.       Open a command prompt, navigate to the directory where Outlook.exe resides in,

    2.       And then run the following commands:

    outlook /cleanviews

    outlook /cleanfreebusy

    outlook /cleanreminders

    3.       Collect EXBPA log according to the following steps, and send the result to v-rocwan@microsoft.com

    a.       logon to Exchange server 2007 via domain admin,

    b.      Open EMC, navigate to toolbox and open it,

    c.       Double click Best Practices Analyzer,

    d.      Select options for a new scan, and click connect to the Active Directory server, enter the identifying label for this scan, maintain the other setting unchanged, click start scanning,

    e.      After the scan is completed save the report as a .xml file, please send the file to me for analyze.

  • Hi nmc123,

The following reason can cause this issue:

The calendar item identified in event 8230 is corrupt and is failing repair over and over. Each repair operation causes transactions, and logs are generated.

To correct this problem use the following steps:

    1.       Use an Outlook client or Outlook Web Access (OWA) to open the mailbox of the user identified by event 8230.

    2.       From the calendar, locate the calendar item and delete it.

    3.       Check the effect.

  • Yes, it can fix the problem.

But do there means the user cannot create any new event/appointment in the calendar?

Many user have the problem too.

How do I fix the problem for the calendar items creation?

  • Hi nmc123,

It doesn’t mean that user can’t create any new event/appointment in the calendar. It just delete the corrupted  calendar items.

  • Thanks Rock!

But everytime I create new event/appointment also get the error.

    1. If there is problem of calendar database, where check the calendar database?
(should be in the public folder?)

    2. If there is problem on event creation function, have there any recovery method for it?

    3. If the problem is caused by some corrupted event in the database, can I clean it up by any tools instead to clean manually?
It is because there are hundreds of users and could be thousands of events.
If there do not have those tools, can I clean up all the exist events and create a new calendar database for all user to ensure the new one can working fine?

    Thanks.
