Window server 2003 window update failed with 0x80190194 RRS feed

  • 問題

  • When we tried to have windonw update the window server 2003 SP1, the web revealed that "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem." with error number 0x80190194.

Then, we attempted to find the solution by google, someone in forums said that we should install SP2 before window update. When we tried to execute the WindowsServer2003-KB914961-SP2-x86-ENU, an error dialogue box poped out with message"there is an internal error".

May I know is there any solution? Thank you for your attention.

  • Hi,

Choose 'Windows Update' from the Tools menu in IE, allow the information bar ActiveX install warning, and that will install the ActiveX component that runs the update process.  Then you can go to the Windows Update website and update from there.

Don't forget to start and make automatic the BITS and Cryptography services so that the automatic updates can run (once you enable and setup it up).

If Automatic Updates version 2.2 is configured to use a server that is running Software Update Services, an error message that is similar to the following error message may be logged in the Windows Update.log file on the Automatic Updates 2.2 client computer:

2002-06-21 12:53:54  17:53:54   Error     IUENGINE       Querying software update catalog from http://servername/autoupdatedrivers/getmanifest.asp (Error 0x80190194)

You do not have to take any action to resolve this error. This is an expected error that does not indicate a problem.
