解答

  • Dear Customer,

Based on the problem description, you want to migrate servers to the new hardware platform. If I have misunderstood your concern please let me know.

With the current status, I suggest that we can perform the following steps to do this migration:
    1. Demote the domain controllerl, disjoin the server from the domain.
    2. Install a new server with the server, join the domain and promote to domain controller.
    3. Install DNS service. Create the AD integrated zone for your domain, so that all DNS records will replicated from Temp-control.
    4. Install DHCP service on. Migrate DHCP database from Temp-control.
    5. Demote the domain controller Temp-control, disjoin the server from the domain.
    6. Install a new server with the server name Temp-control, join the domain and promote to domain controller.

To demote domain controller and promote domain controller, you can refer to the following article:

To migrate DHCP, you can refer to the following article:

Windows 2000, or Windows Server 2003 to a computer that is running Windows Server 2003

To transfer FSMO, you can refer to the following article:
How to view and transfer FSMO roles in Windows Server 2003

Hope the information above is helpful!

  • 我其實有一部dc係remote site, 同時existing server 會有其他用途,所以我要將existing server all services move to new server, e.g. exchange, dns, dhcp, exchange address book ....., 所以有點煩惱. 請指出solution! many many thx!

  • existing server 係指果部remote site既dc ?
    new server都係放響remote site?
    remote site同 HQ 同一個domain?
    Domain中有幾多DHCP? DNS? Exchange?

  • Dear Customer,

I just wanted to say hi, and to see how things are going. I haven't heard back from you yet and I was wondering if there are any updates on the service request.

    Thanks.
