Windows Live login RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have  successfully changed my windows live password on my smart phone but am unable to do the same on my laptop which uses the same email address of jgmo                 @winfirst.com.  My wife's pc has the same address but uses outlook express.  Can or must we have separate passwords and will a change in my  password affect her email?  I have repeatedly tried all the windows walkthrough steps with no success on my pc.  JMorris  aka Irvin Newman

  • This forum is defunct. Originally intended for Live Writer. Live Writer is now supported in the Windows Live Solution Center (WLSC) at http://windowslivehelp.com

Questions regarding Windows Live ID, Password reset etc are also addressed in the WLSC

     Windows Live ID Portal

Ensure you include your Windows versions, version of affected application software (e.g. Windows Live Mail 2011 or 2009, Windows Live Messenger etc), the email account protocol (Pop3 or Http ..Note Http in Windows Live Mail is called DeltaSync)

     - passwords can not be changed in Windws Live Messenger (WLMSgr)

     - passwords for Live ID's can only be changed online at  http://account.live.com

     - passwords can be changed in the email account properties of an account in Windows Live Mail (WLM)

     - one uses a Live ID username/pw to sign on to Windows Live services in WLM and WLMsgr

     - passwords help for a Windows userprofile is not handled in the WLSC. Windows question should be asked in a forum in Microsoft Answers -> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows
